Ok, the next park we wanted to go to was the Magic Kingdom. Like I said in my Hollywood Studios post this park has the most for the entire family. From the kid stuff in ToownTown in Fantasy Land, to the tweener stuff like Pirates, Buzz, and Monster's Inc, to the thrill stuff like Space, Splash, and Thunder Mountain.
My kids really love this park, Eric loves TomorrowLand, Catie loves FantasyLand, makes sense for their age groups if you think about it (6 and 3 respectively).
Tomorrow Land
We spend a lot of time here, on just two three rides. also talk about cosmic rays and carousel of progress
Buzz Lightyear
This is just a fun ride for everyone. Sure its been surpassed in just about every way by Toy Story Mania, but its still a lot of fun. Everyone on my family can hop on and enjoy it in some way. Even my three year old at least gets the idea, even if she doesn't reall get aiming yet. It doesn't matter, she has fun on it.
My son, Eric, on the other hand can get up around 100K on a good ride, and usually gets around 50K. He loves this ride and just wants to go on it again and again. The good thing is the line time usually isn't that bad. This ride line was never really more than 10 minutes during this trip, and even during our last trip over the summer was never much more than 20 minutes during the peak times.
I'm even still having fun riding it. I find new targets all the time, I just found a new one that's worth 100K in the first room (this is the second one that I know of), and as long as I get a higher score than my wife all is good with the universe (which is why I'm not revealing the new 100K target in the first room, heh)
Laugh Floor
The Laugh Floor is a great hit with my family, and has been since the first time we went on it. That time they took my son's joke on the first try, and he's been hooked ever since. This last trip we got a few new memories. My daughter got picked to be Boo, my son's jokes got picked a few more times, my father (who along with my mother came down to join us for a few days this trip) got picked to be the guy that "stinks", my mother got picked as someone who didn't think any of this was funny. All around it was great.
Sure the jokes get stale after 5 or 6 times, but so what, its like the Jungle Cruise eventually. You come to revel in the corniness.
TomorrowLand Speedway
The track was under a lot of construction during this trip. Only two lanes were running. The other two were torn up quite a bit. I'm not sure what's going on since I've never seen it like this. Are they doing something new? Normal maintenence? Any news would be appreciated.
The kids love this, my son can steer this one pretty well now. He never really liked getting thrown around much when he banged into the rail, but he still always liked it. Now that he can steer pretty well he loves it.
My daughter started steering it for the first time this trip, and she loves it. Unlike Eric she LOVES t o crash. Starts laughing as hard as she ca n whenever it happens. It becomes a game t o see just how much a jolt we can get out of the car when we hit the rail.
Fantasy Land
Fantasy Land is always interesting. So far this still holds a lot of fun for the whole family, but for the first time Eric started saying he didn't ds/gd01.js"> .alphagodaddy.com/hosting_ads/gd01.js"> want to do some of these rides. He thougth they were for little kids. Then again when we finally got on them he liked them of course. But the end appears to be in sight.
The Pooh Ride
Sorry I'm drawing a blank on the actual ride name at the moment, but we hit this ride every trip as well, and this one is no exception.
Now, just a little background, I was actually a fan of Mr Toad's Wild Ride that occupied this space before Pooh went in, so I was skeptical about this ride when I first went on it.
Like every time I go on this ride, my favorite part is the rain scene. The ride vehicle really does have a feeling of floating on water when they move it around. Also for some reason I realy like the way they did the book letters falling into the water. It just seems neat to me. Couple that with the rain drop effects in the water and overall I think this part of the ride is very well done. (Its great to cool you off for a few seconds in the summer too).
My kids like this ride, although Eric is starting to push back on it. Catie can't get enough of it.

Peter Pan
Peter Pan is one of Catie's favorite movies so we make a point of going on this ride. I actually love this ride myself, mainly for the flying over London scene in the beginning. I just think its so well done, you reall feel like you're soaring over a bustling city.
That being said the line for this ride is ridiculous. It has the most poorly managed Fast Pass that I've ever seen. The stand by line seems like its perpetually over 30 minutes no matter how short it looks. On top of that if you're in the stand by line for some reason you stand still a LOT. I mean its a continual movement ride like the Haunted Mansion, Pooh, and Buzz Lightyear so why do you stand still so much? Because of the poorly managed Fast Pass.
Either they give out too many for each window, or they give them too much priority. Whatever it is there is more standing around in this line than in any other. Its to the point where if we don't have a Fast Pass I try to avoid going on it if I can, but if Catie wants to ride it, what's a Daddy to do?
This last trip we did stand by and poor Catie fell asleep just as we were got to the place where the Fast Pass line merged into the stand by one. For once I didn't mind getting stopped by the Fast Passers and Catie got a bit more of a nap before I woke her up to go on the ride.
Dumbo
This is an interesting example of a ride line sorting itself out. This queue is never much more than 30 minutes no matter how busy the park is. Once it gets that long people tend to find their fun elsewhere until it calms down a bit. After having been at the park in the summer I can see why, this line queue is miserable in the summer.
Catie loves this ride, wants to control the up and down herself of course, and my sone is the same way. Its a fun time, if a bit short, and offers some nice views of the park.
Carousel
The Carousel is my wife's favorite ride in Fantasy Land. Its fun, simple, short line, the kids love it. So we hit it just about every time we're in Fantasy Land. This trip was no exception. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures from it this trip somehow.
Its a small world
Small world is another one that my family usually does as a unit. This trip however my son thought he was too big for it. I have no idea where this is coming from, but then again I'm not losing sleep over it since not hearing that incessant song is something I'll take when I can get it. It's not that I don't like the ride, its just that after you've done it a million times you notice just how repetitive it is.
Tea Cups
Tea cups! Great combination of high speed and quality family time. We're getting to the point where we don't quite all fit into a single cup which is a huge bummer, but even split up we can all have fun on it togther. My son loves to go fast, my daughter likes to "spin by myself" so we don't spin so fast, but she loves it when we do! I think we rode this about 3 or 4 times this trip between doing the Extra Magic Hours Monday night, and repeated visits to the park throughout the week.
